Activities

SAOM has been dedicated to helping the community with a wide range of social services and advocacy work. Since 1996 we have:

Established a sister-City liaison between Ann Arbor-Michigan and Dakar-Senegal

Created a fund to assist community members in financial difficulty

Volunteered at the Ann Arbor Soup Kitchen

Gained a seat in Ann Arbor Hospitality Committee

Raised roughly $10,000 for the A. B. S Defense Fund

Donated $1,500 to help the victims of the Joola boat accident

Purchased a city owned property in Detroit

Contributed an average of $1,000/year on social services to help community members in need

Secured a shipment of $4,000,0000 worth of medical supplies to Senegal thru World Medical Relief

Raised money to send the remains of deceased community members back to Senegal

Assisted the community with Immigration filings and related financial needs
